Ceremonies & Celebrations

  • Weddings and commitment ceremonies are some of the most personal and cherished days of our lives. The ceremony itself should be just as personal. Every aspect of it, from readings to music to symbolism, should be a reflection of the individuals and the bond that is shared.

Sugar Moon Ceremonies officiates at personalized civil-secular, nondenominational, religious, spiritual and multicultural weddings and ceremonies. Sugar Moon will help create a ceremony that reflects the beliefs and traditions that the clients find important.

  • Ceremonies provide signposts for our lives. Celebrating life's milestones together honors our past, shapes our present and molds our future. Many times we experience significant transitions in our lives without stopping to mark and reflect on the importance and impact of these life events.

Regardless of the transition, a ceremony can help usher us through with grace, authenticity, transparency and strength.

  • Weddings, Ceremonies for Families, Transitions and Other Ceremonies specific to the LGBTQ+ community. Sugar Moon performs all types of ceremonies for same gender couples and families, including civil union and wedding ceremonies.

Sugar Moon will take the time to understand beliefs, values, and what makes each client unique. Sugar Moon will collaborate with the client to create a ceremony that will cherished for years to come.

In each unique ceremony, the client is empowered in a collaborative process to guide in choosing rituals, readings, symbols and music to fulfill the ideals and vision for the ceremony. No two ceremonies are the same.

  • Sugar Moon performs many kinds of ceremonies for families and children, including baby namings and welcomings, ceremonies for adoptive families, coming of age celebrations for adolescents; and ceremonies marking birthdays, graduations, family reunions and more. Welcoming ceremonies for new family members, whether by birth, adoption or marriage, have existed in virtually every culture and country. Publicly marking the entry of new members into our families is perhaps one of the most joyous celebrations we can share, and acknowledging our responsibilities to our children one of the most serious commitments we can undertake.

Children and youth experience important milestones, particularly when they pass from adolescence to adulthood. Ceremony can play a vital role in guiding a teenager through this coming of age transition, as the child takes on more mature responsibilities in the family and society. The child's input in designing a ceremony that is meaningful to them is vital. Coming of age ceremonies have played a vital role in all cultures throughout history. Today, with the often vast gap between the youth and adult worlds, these rites of passage are more important than ever. For all youth, coming of age ceremonies celebrate their rite of passage into adulthood and are frequently held during early teen years as secular Baht mitzvah or Bar mitzvah, sweet sixteen, Quinceanera festival, graduation or a marking of a major achievement in the young adults life.
